India and Bangladesh are set to clash in a two-Test series starting September 19 at Chennai's Chepauk Stadium. This will be the first Test series between the two teams since 2022.

Since their inaugural Test series in 2000, Bangladesh has not won a single series against India. Despite India's dominant record, they cannot afford to underestimate Bangladesh, who recently achieved a historic 2-0 whitewash over Pakistan—their first-ever Test series win against their rivals.

Ahead of IND vs BAN Test series, let's have a look at bowlers with maximum wickets in IND vs BAN Tests. 

18 wickets: Former India left-arm pacer Irfan Pathan holds the record for most wickets in India vs Bangladesh Test matches. During the 2004/05 Test series between India and Bangladesh, he took 18 wickets in two matches at an average of 11.88. Pathan's performance featured three five-wicket hauls and one ten-wicket match haul. 

15 wickets: Zaheer Khan, a 2011 World Cup winner and one of the premier seamers in cricket history, ranks second with 15 wickets in India vs Bangladesh Test matches. In the 2009-10 Test series, Khan claimed 15 wickets, with his best performance being 7/87. His tally included one five-wicket haul and one ten-wicket match haul.

12 wickets: Ishant Sharma, who continues to impress in the Indian Premier League (IPL), claimed 12 wickets during Bangladesh's tour of India for a two-Test series in 2019/20. His best performance came with figures of 5/22 in the second Test. Sharma also recorded one four-wicket haul and one five-wicket haul in the series.

11 wickets: Bangladesh's Mehidy Hasan Miraz secured 11 wickets in two matches during the 2022-23 series. He achieved one four-wicket haul and one five-wicket haul, with his best bowling performance being 5/63 in the second Test.
