IND vs BAN, 3rd T20I: Chahar Shines As India Beat B'desh By 30 Runs, Claim Series 2-1

Chahar (6/7) took a hat-trick and attained best T20I figures to help India beat Bangladesh by 30 runs and take home the T20I series 2-1

A match-winning maiden T20I five-wicket haul from speedster Deepak Chahar after half-centuries from KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer helped team India beat Bangladesh by 30 runs and take home the T20I series 2-1 at the VCA Stadium, in Nagpur. Not only Chahar (6/7) took a hat-trick but he also attained the best T20I figures to end the series. Such brilliant were the Indian bowlers that three Bangladeshi batsmen had to depart on a golden duck in today's game. Not only that, the visitors lost two wickets in the space of two balls thrice. Definitely, Bumrah was 'not missed'. Khaleel who started the attack with the new ball gave eight runs in the first over but paceman Deepak Chahar came up with the damage control in the third over to pick two wickets in two balls to put Bangladesh in immense pressure. At the end of Powerplay, Bangladesh managed to score 33/2 with Naim and Mithun at the crease, trying to steady their ship. The duo brought their 50-run partnership to keep the game in balance after losing early wickets. Halfway through the chase, B'desh batsmen looked solid, leaving the Indian bowlers desperate for a wicket. Moreover, Naim (48-ball 81) batted brilliantly to reach his maiden T20I fifty off just 34 balls making his squad require 88 runs from final nine overs. Young Chahar yet again emerged as the man who delivered at the most crucial time by departing Mithun (27). However, what put the comeback mode on for India was Shivam Dube's maiden T20I wicket in form of Mushfiqur Rahim (0), who had single-handedly powered his team to victory in 2nd T20I. With India looking to wrap up things without giving away much runs, young Dube finally hit the bulls eye with back-to-back wickets - a perfect yorker from him rattled Naim's stumps and in the very next ball he got Hossain out for a duck. Spinner Yuzvendra Chahal finally got his first wicket of the day by deceiving Mahmudullah in the air to get him stumped out by Pant for 8. Chahar ensured that he ends series on a memorable note as he took his maiden T20I five-wicket haul and took a hat-trick to power India to 30-runs win vs Bangladesh. Earlier, T20-savvy cricketers KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer attained fifties in the series decider to propel team India to 174/5 against Bangladesh. What hurt Bangladesh more then some brutal pounding from the Indian batsmen were some dropped chances (catches) - especially that of Shreyas Iyer.
