IND V ENG 1st T20I: England bustling with 90 m/h Mills but Kohli unfazed
Kanpur: Taking a subtle dig at a scribe of the touring party, India captain Virat Kohli said he was not bothered about the presence of left-arm pacer Tymal Mills in the England squad as he has faced "enough 90mph bowlers in his career".
There are talks that the 24–year-old Sussex fast bowler, Tymal Millas can cause a few problems to the fancied Indian batting line-up with his extra pace and bounce but the Indian skipper was not ready to pay too much attention to the young fast bowler’s abilities as of now.
"I haven't seen much of him but I have played 90mph before in my career so," said Kohli in a dismissive tone.
"They have brought him (Mills) as a T20 specialist; he might have a set of skills which is required for this format. I can may be comment on him after the second game having played him a bit. But 90mph is not a problem at all. I think I have faced enough 90mph bowlers till now," he said drawing instant laughter from the media persons.
Mills went wicket-less in his only T20 appearance for England against Sri Lanka. But England captain Eoin Morgan believes he is an exciting prospect, tailor made for the shortest format of the game.
Mills shot into limelight when he castled Chris Gayle with a 150 km/h yorker in a domestic T20 game in England.
Cricket however, has not been a bed of roses for the left-arm seamer. He suffered a nasty back injury in 2015 which forced him to take a drastic decision of retiring from the longer format as well as one day cricket at a tender age of 22.
Since then Mills has restricted himself to only T20s, playing all around globe. With the absence of regular fast bowler Chris Woakes and David Willey nursing a shoulder injury, Mills in all probability will find a place in the England playing XI in the first T20I against India at Kanpur.
