Haris Rauf Breaks Shreyas Iyer's Bat With His Sheer Pace In India-Pakistan Asia Cup Clash. WATCH
Despite the bat being broken, the ball still managed to cross the fence.
The number four slot of the Indian cricket team's batting lineup is one of the most talked about issues. This particular batting position has been a huge topic of debate but then also it is unsettled. For the much-awaited clash of the Asia Cup 2023 between India and Pakistan, it was Shreyas Iyer who made a comeback to the Indian team and made his way to the number four position. Since India lost two wickets by the seventh over, Shreyas Iyer had a job to do. He started carefully and batted well during his initial overs.
He smashed two fours before getting dismissed by Haris Rauf in the 10th over of the game. On another occasion, Rauf outclassed Iyer with his sheer pace as his express fast delivery broke the edge of Iyer's bat. Despite the bat being broken, the ball still managed to cross the fence.
The pictures and videos of his broken bat have gone viral on social media.

Talking about the game, it was Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya who revived India’s innings. Both batters went on to score their half-centuries, helping India score 266 runs. For Pakistan, the weaker in chief was Shaheen Shah Afridi who rattled India’s top order. Pakistan could not bat as rain played spoilsport on Saturday. Ishan Kishan (82 off 81 balls) and Hardik Pandya (87 off 90 balls) were also involved in a 138-run partnership for the fifth wicket to lift their side from 66 for 4 in 14.1 overs.
