Harbhajan Singh Wonders Why Suryakumar Yadav Is Being Overlooked
Suryakumar, who has been a vital cog for Mumbai in domestic tournaments, has been picked in the India 'A' squad for two tour matches and three one-day games in New Zealand. However, his name missing in the national squad has somewhat irked Harbhajan
Veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh seems to be not happy with BCCI's selection policy after young sensational batsman Suryakumar Yadav was 'again' not included in the Indian team for upcoming T20I and ODI series against Sri Lanka and Australia respectively.
Suryakumar is an important player in Mumbai in domestic tournaments and has been part of India 'A' squad for two tour matches and three one-day games in New Zealand. However, his name missing in the national squad has somewhat irked Harbhajan.
"I keep wondering what's wrong Suryakumar Yadav has done? Apart from scoring runs like others who keep getting picked for Team India, India A, India B, why different rules for different players (sic)?" tweeted Harbhajan on Tuesday.
In 73 first-class matches, the 29-year-old has amassed 4,920 runs, averaging 43.53 which also include 13 tons and 24 half-centuries while in T20s, he has 3,012 runs from 149 games with an average of 31.37. Recently, he had smashed an unbeaten 102 and played a significant role in Mumbai's 309-run victory over Baroda in a Ranji Trophy contest in Vadodra. In the Indian Premier League (IPL), he has played 85 matches so far in which he has scored 1548 runs including seven fifties. India are scheduled to play three T20Is against Sri Lanka beginning January 5 whereas the ODI series against Australia will be played from January 14 to 19. (With IANS Inputs)I keep wondering what’s wrong @surya_14kumar hv done ? Apart from scoring runs like others who keep getting picked for Team india india/A india /B why different rules for different players ???
