India witnessed one of its finest sportsperson Gautam Gambhir begin a new innings on India political turf this year. The ex-Indian cricketer officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) just after some time he announced his retirement from all form of cricket in December 2018. We saw a cricketer turn politician after the end of his playing career but it was surprising to hear an 'active foreign cricketer' join Indian politics. According to reports and social media posts, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) hired famous Windies cricketer Chris Gayle to their campaigning squad ahead of the Lok Sabha elections 2019. Apparently, an image of Gayle, wearing saffron Kurta is getting viral on social media. Backed by some digitally manipulated images, a similar claim got viral on social media in April last year, that Gayle has joined BJP and was campaigning for Karnataka Assembly elections. As per the fake post, Gayle is named 'Krishna Goyal' as a joke, and by using an old photo-shopped image the same meme is getting shared everywhere. Some people on Twitter even started sharing it as an authentic news.
