ENG vs AUS, 3rd Ashes Test, Toss: Unchanged England Opt To Ball; Australia Make 2 Major Changes

Australia are already on a 1-0 lead in the Ashes as they registered a massive 251-run victory in the first Ashes Test

England won the toss and opted to bowl first in the third Ashes Test at Headingley Cricket Ground here on Thursday. England batsman Jason Roy, who was hit on the head on Tuesday when facing throwdowns from Marcus Trescothick, has found a spot in the playing XI, meaning the 29-year-old has passed the concussion test. “We're going to bowl first. Looking at the conditions, they're more suited for bowling. It'll be good for a long time. There's some moisture in the wicket too, and there is something in the wicket early on at least. We're going in with the same team. Jason Roy has undergone a number of tests for the concussion and he's perfectly fine,” said Root at the time of the toss. However, Australia have made two changes in their squad. Marcus Harris replaces Cameron Bancroft and James Pattinson in for Peter Siddle. Marnus Labuschagne will be playing in place of Steve Smith, who was ruled out of the third Ashes Test because of concussion. “Hoping to get a good first innings total, and hoping we can get Lyon into the game on Day 4 and 5 (because it's dry underneath). Marcus Harris comes in for Bancroft and Pattinson comes in for Siddle. Smith is a huge miss, and it's a loss for your team, and it's up to our senior players to set it up in the absence of Smith. It takes the entire team to win the Ashes series and we have a good chance to show it out here today,” said Australian skipper Tim Paine at the toss. Australia are already on a 1-0 lead in the Ashes as they registered a massive 251-run victory in the first Ashes Test before the second match ended in a draw. Here are the teams: Australia: David Warner, Marcus Harris, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Travis Head, Matthew Wade, Tim Paine(w/c), James Pattinson, Pat Cummins, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood England: Rory Burns, Jason Roy, Joe Root(c), Joe Denly, Ben Stokes, Jonny Bairstow(w), Jos Buttler, Chris Woakes, Jofra Archer, Stuart Broad, Jack Leach
