Dinesh Karthik’s wife comes up with a heartwarming birthday wish ahead of India's WC 2019 opener

After the unfortunate divorce with his childhood darling Nikita Vanjara back in 2007, Karthik got hitched to Pallikal in Chennai on August 18, 2015, in a grand Christian wedding.

Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik's wife Dipika Pallikal took to Instagram to wish her husband in the most romantic way on Saturday. The 34-year-old’s wife, who is an ace squash player, took to Instagram to post a picture of Karthik and referred to his as the ‘captain of my heart’. After the unfortunate divorce with his childhood darling Nikita Vanjara back in 2007, Karthik got hitched to Pallikal in Chennai on August 18, 2015, in a grand Christian wedding.

India star all-rounder Hardik Pandya responded to the post with emoticons. The BCCI posted the video from its official Twitter handle in which Karthik can be seen celebrating his birthday with team members.

Fifteen years after making his international debut, senior most player in India's 15-member squad after Dhoni, Karthik was the subject of an intense debate with many even questioning his selection over Rishabh Pant. The 33-year-old, who is most likely playing his last World Cup this year, had said he loves spending time with youngsters in the camp, especially KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya. "Those two names matter a lot to me. I am very close to them in this Indian team. If either of them was not there in the team I would have been very sad. At the end of the day, you do make close friends as you go along in the journey," Karthik told PTI before leaving for England.
