BAN vs AFG, One-Off Test: Rashid Leads Afghanistan To Historic Win Against Bangladesh

Rashid finished with 11 wickets for the match. With this historic win, Afghanistan is now the only Test side after Australia to win two of their first three Tests

Afghanistan's Rashid Khan emerged as the star performer to power his national team to a huge away victory over Bangladesh. Young skipper Rashid Khan was brilliant both with the bat and ball in his first Test. The lethal leg-spinner picked the final wicket of Soumya Sarkar to help Afghanistan secure a 224-run victory with less than four overs left in day five. Rashid finished with 11 wickets for the match. With this historic win, Afghanistan is now the only Test side after Australia to win two of their first three Tests. The Afghan skipper also became the first debutant Test captain to claim a 10 wicket match haul and also hit an individual fifty in an innings in the same Test match. Earlier, wrist spinners wreaked havoc on Day 4 to take Afghanistan closer to a famous win against Bangladesh, who were at 136/6 and still needing 262 to win in the one-off Test in Chattogram on Sunday. Resuming at overnight score of 237/8 in 83.4 overs with a lead of 374, Afghanistan set Bangladesh a stiff target of 398 to win after start of play was delayed due to bad light. Brief scores: Afghanistan 342 (Rahmat Shah 102, Asghar Afghan 92; Taijul Islam 4/116) &260 (Ibrahim Zadran 87, Asghar Afghan 50; Shakib Al Hasan 3/58) vs Bangladesh 205 (Mominul Haque 52, Mosaddek Hossain 48; Rashid Khan 5/55) & 173 (Shakib Al Hasan 44, Shadman Islam 41; Rashid Khan 6/59)
