Asia Cup 2023: India To Not Play Matches In Pakistan, Sri Lanka To Host Ind Vs Pak Clash
The draft schedule for the Asia Cup is anticipated to be released soon, with four matches set to be held in Pakistan and the remaining games in Sri Lanka.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary, Jay Shah, and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairperson, Zaka Ashraf, held a meeting on the sidelines of the ICC board meeting in Durban to discuss the Asia Cup schedule. According to sources, it has been confirmed that India will not be participating in cricket matches held in Pakistan, and instead, the highly anticipated India-Pakistan match of the Asia Cup will take place in Sri Lanka.
Sources also revealed that during the meeting, Jay Shah received an invitation to attend the Asia Cup 2023 in Pakistan, while Zaka Ashraf was extended an invitation to the ICC World Cup 2023 matches, which is slated to be held in India this year later.
However, it has been clarified by the PCB that the final decision on the participation of Pakistan in the ICC World Cup 2023 will depend on government clearance. The draft schedule for the Asia Cup is expected to be released soon, with four matches scheduled to be held in Pakistan and the remaining games in Sri Lanka.

Asia Cup Matches In Sri Lanka & Pakistan
According to sources, four matches of the Asia Cup tournament will be played in Pakistan, while Sri Lanka will host nine matches. The opening group stage of the Asia Cup 2023 will see four matches in Pakistan, including Pakistan-Nepal matches in one group, and Afghanistan-Bangladesh, Afghanistan-Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh-Sri Lanka matches in the other group. However, matches involving the Indian team will not be held in Pakistan. Additionally, the final match of the Asia Cup 2023 will also be played in Sri Lanka.
