Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar's son Arjun Tendulkar is once again in the limelight. Thanks to the fierce bowling of Arjun, the Mumbai Under-19 team was able to get a big win in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy on Saturday, thrashing Gujarat by 9 wickets during the second round encounter.
With Arjun’s brilliant performance with the ball, the team of Gujarat was all out for 142 runs in 49.2 overs.
Arjun, who has played for India under-19 team in Sri Lanka, was still looking for his rhythm; this time had the team of Gujarat in front of him. Left-arm fast bowler in his spell of 8.2 overs, dismissed Vardhman Dattesh Shah (0), Priyesh (1), LM Kocher (8), Jaymeet Patel (26) and Dhruvang Patel (6), which also included a maiden over.
In front of target of 143, Mumbai openers Suvel Parkar (67 not out) and Deivanesh (45) gave the team a great start with a 108-run partnership for the first wicket. Pragesh Singh (27 not out), managed to take the lead in the 32nd over after being dismissed by Deewaarsh and gave the team 72 balls first win.
In the ongoing tournament, Mumbai will now face Bengal and then Madhya Pradesh.
