Alzarri starts rehab under MI physio to regain full fitness
West Indies pacer Alzarri Joseph has started his rehabilitation programme under MI physiotherapist Nitin Patel after undergoing surgery on his shoulder
West Indies pacer Alzarri Joseph impressed everyone as he made a dramatic entry in the cash-rich tournament with best-ever IPL figures of 6/12 in his debut game against SRH, but his contribution in the MI franchise was short-lived after he had a bad tumble while fielding against Rajasthan Royals that saw him dislocate his shoulder.
Not only was he ruled out of the league, but also the World Cup. Since then, MI took him under their wings and looked after the pacer. Joseph has started his rehabilitation programme under MI physiotherapist Nitin Patel after undergoing surgery on his shoulder.
The pacer is expected to continue rehab for another two months.
Joseph was picked as a replacement for injured Adam Milne. Three days later, the right-arm pacer hit the winning runs against Kings XI Punjab in his first home game.
Joseph has featured in nine Tests and 16 ODIs for the West Indies so far.
Hendricks came in as Joseph’s replacement, signing up with his second IPL franchise, having represented Kings XI Punjab in the past. The left-armer has played two ODIs and 10 T20Is for South Africa.
