BWF World Championships 2019: Sindhu Beats Chen Yu Fei To Storm Into 3rd Successive Women's Singles Finals

The Rio Olympic silver medallist was in all conquering mode against her Chinese opponent and only took 40 minutes to outclass World No. 3 Yu Fei 21-7, 21-14.

For the third year in a row, India's ace shuttler P.V. Sindhu stormed into the finals of BWF World Championships after defeating China's Chen Yu Fei in straight games in the women's singles semifinals played out on Saturday. The Rio Olympic silver medallist was in all conquering mode against her Chinese opponent and only took 40 minutes to outclass World No. 3 Yu Fei 21-7, 21-14. Sindhu looked sharp and focussed from the very first game itself while Yu Fei lacked pace as the Indian shuttler took just 15 minutes to take the first game. Sindhu continued to dominate the chinese shuttler in the second game. However, Yu Fei showed some fight in the second game as compared to the one-sided first game. But it wasn't enough to stop the Indian shuttler as she took the second game to enter the finals. Sindhu will now take her arch rival Nozomi Okuhara in the women's singles for a shot at her maiden World Championship title. Okuhara emerged as the winner of the second women's singles semi-final against former World Champion Ratchanok Intanon. On Friday, Sindhu had beaten world number two and Asian Games gold medallist Tai Tzu Ying, from Chinese Taipei, 12-21, 23-21, 21-19 in a quarterfinal that lasted 71 minutes. Losing the first game, Sindhu played one of her best matches at the Championships to make a stunning comeback.
