BCCI Announces Squads For India's Upcoming Series Against New Zealand & Bangladesh

The series will be crucial for players who are aiming for a chance in India's ODI team for the World Cup, next year.

New Delhi: Chetan Sharma, Chairman of selectors of the All-India Senior Selection Committee, on Monday announced the squads for India’s upcoming series against New Zealand and Bangladesh. The series will be crucial for players who are aiming for a chance in India's ODI team for the World Cup, next year. Senior Indian players like Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya and Rohit Sharma, who are part of India's T20 World Cup squad, have been rested for India's tour of New Zealand which starts just five days after T20 World Cup final, on November 18. In Rohit's absence, senior Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan has been named as skipper for IND vs NZ ODI series, while Rishabh Pant has been asked to play role of Dhawan's deputy. In T20Is, Hardik Pandya will lead the squad with Pant as vice-captain. 

India's tour of New Zealand consists of three-match T20I series starting from November 18. The second and final T20I between the two teams will be played on 20th November and 21st November, respectively. After the T20I series, India and New Zealand will play a three-match ODI series as the tour will conclude on November 30th.

Squad for NZ T20Is: Hardik Pandya (C), Rishabh Pant (vc & wk), Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, Deepak Hooda, Surya Kumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Sanju Samson (wk), W Sundar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Harshal Patel, Mohd. Siraj, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umran Malik.

Squad for NZ ODIs: Shikhar Dhawan (C), Rishabh Pant (vc & wk), Shubman Gill, Deepak Hooda, Surya Kumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Sanju Samson (wk), W Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Shahbaz Ahmed, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Deepak Chahar, Kuldeep Sen, Umran Malik.

Ravindra Jadeja set for a comeback with India's tour of Bangladesh

All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja will return to action in December when India takes on Bangladesh in ODI and Test series. The veteran has not played a single match for the national team since the Asia Cup 2022 where he sustained a knee injury. Star players Virat and Rohit, after missing the New Zealand series, will return to the side for India's tour of Bangladesh.
