Angry Sri Lankan Fans Launch #Unfollowcricketers Campaign On Social Media After Drubbing In England

Some angry fans trended #unfollowcricketers on Twitter and Facebook. Not only this, some fans are also appealing to not to watch Sri Lankan team matches on TV.

In the last few years, there has been a steady decline in the performance of Sri Lanka Cricket Team. The Lankan Lions are losing series one after the other in every format. England handed Sri Lanka a clean-sweep in the recently concluded 3-match T20 series. This was Sri Lanka's fifth consecutive series loss in T20 cricket. Since October 2018, Sri Lanka have won only one out of 10 T20 series.

Before England, India, Australia and West Indies have defeated Sri Lanka in the shortest format. After the embarrassing defeat against England, the patience of the angry fans has finally given up and they decided to start a campaign to unfollow the Sri Lankan players on social media.

In the first T20I, England defeated Sri Lanka by 8 wickets and in the second T20I by 5 wickets. In the last match of the series, the hosts won by 89 runs. Sri Lanka's batting form was so poor that only one half-century was scored by a Lankan batsman in all three T20Is. T20 World Cup is to be held this year.
