Young Tennis sensation Carlos Alcaraz won the second grand slam title of his career at just 20 years of age after he defeated the legendary Novak Djokovic on the greatest stage as he clinched a Wimbledon title in 5 sets.
Despite going down in the first set 1-6, Alcaraz made a terrific comeback and won the second set in a tie-breaker before taking the third set 6-1. Djokovic, meanwhile, put up a tough and forced the match into a decider by winning the fourth set but Alcaraz came out on top in the fifth set to clinch the championship winning the final 1-6, 7-6(6), 6-1, 3-6, 6-4.
One of the videos is doing rounds on Instagram where the young Tennis player who was then 12 years of age, was spotted answering a few questions. In a video that has gone viral, Carlos said, “his dream is to win a Wimbledon and Roland-Garros”. After being asked about his favourite player he said, “Roger Federer”.

The World number 1 ranked player also became the fifth youngest man to clinch a second major title in the open Era. He also became the third youngest player in Open Era to win Wimbledon before turning 21 with the other two being Bjorn Borg and Boris Becker. In addition, Alcaraz became the second youngest player to beat Djokovic in a major.
Alcaraz, who was playing just his fifth competition on the grass court got familiar with the conditions quickly and ousted the 36-year-old Djokovic who has won the Wimbleton seven times overall. The Serb was chasing his record-extending 24th Grand Slam title this was the first Wimbledon win for Alcaraz.
During a game that stretched for almost five hours, a lot of nail-biting moments transpired but in the end, Alcaraz ended up dominating the game against a veteran player who last lost a final here in 2013 against Andy Murray. Prior to this, the head-to-head contest between Djokovic and Alcaraz stood at 1-1 but the two of them had never met on a grass court before. The win makes it 2-1 in favour of Alcaraz.
