Who Is Goddess Kalratri?
To annihilate demons Shumbh, Nishumbh, and the bloodthirsty Rakhtbeej, the Goddess assumed the fierce form of Kalratri. She has a dark complexion, which is why she is named 'Kalratri' (Black Night). Goddess Kalratri rides a donkey and has three eyes. In her four arms, she carries a sword and a hook (iron weapon). A garland around her neck shines as brightly as lightning. Despite her terrifying appearance, Goddess Kalratri is extremely compassionate and kind to her devotees. She is also known as Mahayogeshwari and Mahayogini.
Colour For The Seventh Day Of Navratri:
On this day, it is considered auspicious to wear blue-coloured clothes while worshiping Goddess Kalratri. Devotees believe that by worshiping her, they are protected from untimely death and freed from the fear of death itself.
Significance Of Worshipping Goddess Kalratri:
During the worship of Goddess Kalratri, the 'Bhanu Chakra' is activated, which eliminates all forms of fear. Whether it's the fear of ghosts, evil spirits, or bad energies, or even controlling enemies and opponents, the worship of Goddess Kalratri is considered infallible. Goddess Kalratri is also believed to relieve the suffering caused by the planet Saturn (Shani).
Goddess Kalratri's Mantra:
“Lamboshti Karnikakarni Tailabhyakta Sharirini॥ Vamapadollasalloha Latakantaka Bhushana॥ Vardhana Murdhadhwaja Krishna Kalratribhayankari॥”
During the worship of Goddess Kalratri, it is recommended to chant her mantras with a mala (rosary) made of red sandalwood. If red sandalwood is not available, a rudraksha mala can also be used for chanting her sacred mantras.
