Worship Of Goddess Skandamata On The 5th Day Of Navratri:
Maa Skandamata is venerated on the fifth day of Navratri. She is known as the mother of 'Skanda' or 'Kartikeya,' the god of war. Her idol is depicted with Lord Skanda seated in her lap. On this day, yogis concentrate their minds on the 'Vishuddha Chakra' (throat chakra). Achieving a deep state of meditation at this chakra helps the devotee break free from worldly attachments and focus their full attention on the divine presence of Maa Skandamata, immersing them in continuous devotion.
Lord Skanda, also known by names such as Kartikeya and Kumar, is the commander of the celestial army and rides a peacock. He led the gods in the battle against demons. Skandamata holds a lotus flower in her lower right hand while her left hand is raised in a gesture of blessing. She is often depicted with a radiant and auspicious appearance.
