  • Second Lunar Eclipse: The second lunar eclipse will occur on September 7, 2025. It will take place at the beginning of Pitru Paksha and will be visible in India, making its Sutak period applicable.

Surya Grahan 2025

  • First Solar Eclipse: The first solar eclipse will occur on March 29, 2025. It will be a partial solar eclipse and, due to occurring at night, it will not be visible in India. This eclipse will be visible in Europe, Russia, and Africa.
  • Second Solar Eclipse: The second solar eclipse will occur on September 21, 2025, and it will also not be visible in India. It will be a partial solar eclipse and will be visible in New Zealand, the Pacific, and Antarctica.

The First Solar Eclipse On March 29 

The first solar eclipse of 2025 will occur on March 29, during the Krishna Paksha Amavasya of the Chaitra month. This will be a total eclipse, lasting from 14:21 PM to 18:14 PM. It will be visible in areas such as Bermuda, Barbados, Denmark, Austria, Belgium, northern Brazil, Finland, Germany, France, Hungary, Ireland, Morocco, Greenland, eastern Canada, Lithuania, Holland, Portugal, northern Russia, Spain, Suriname, Sweden, Poland, Norway, Ukraine, Switzerland, England, and the eastern United States.

This eclipse will not be visible in India, and therefore, it will not have any religious significance or a Sutak period. During this eclipse, a special planetary conjunction will occur in the Pisces zodiac and Uttara Bhadrapada Nakshatra.

On this day, besides the Sun and Rahu in Pisces, Venus, Mercury, and the Moon will also be present. Saturn will be positioned in the 12th house, while Jupiter will be in Taurus in the 3rd house, Mars in Gemini in the 4th house, and Ketu in Virgo in the 7th house. The combined effect of these five planets may have a deep impact on the zodiac signs during this eclipse.

The Second Solar Eclipse On September 21 

The second solar eclipse of 2025 will occur on the night of September 21, during the Krishna Paksha Amavasya of the Ashvin month. It will start at 22:59 PM on September 21 and will last until 03:23 AM on September 22. This total eclipse will be visible in New Zealand, Fiji, Antarctica, and southern parts of Australia. It will not be visible in India, so it will not have any religious significance, nor will the Sutak period be observed.

The second eclipse of the year will take place in Virgo and the Uttara Phalguni Nakshatra. During this time, the Sun, Moon, and Mercury will be in Virgo, with Saturn in Pisces casting a full aspect on them. Additionally, Mars will be in Libra in the 2nd house, Rahu in Aquarius in the 6th house, Jupiter in the 10th house, and Venus and Ketu will be in the 12th house. This solar eclipse may have a significant impact on individuals born under Virgo and Uttara Phalguni Nakshatra.

The First Lunar Eclipse On March 14

The first lunar eclipse of 2025 will occur on March 14, during the Shukla Purnima of the Phalguna month. The eclipse will last from 10:41 AM to 2:18 PM IST. It will be a total lunar eclipse, visible mainly in most parts of Australia, Europe, Africa, North and South America, the Pacific, Atlantic, Arctic Oceans, Eastern Asia, and Antarctica.

This eclipse will not be visible in India, so it will not have any religious significance in India. From an astronomical perspective, this lunar eclipse will occur in Leo and Uttara Phalguni Nakshatra, making it particularly impactful for those born under these signs.

On the day of the lunar eclipse, the Sun and Saturn will be in the seventh house from the Moon and will aspect the Moon with a full seventh house aspect, deepening its effect. In addition, Ketu will be in the second house from the Moon, the Sun and Saturn in the seventh house, Rahu, Mercury, and Venus in the eighth house, Jupiter in the tenth house, and Mars in the eleventh house.

The First Lunar Eclipse On September 7

The second lunar eclipse of 2025 will occur on September 7, during the Shukla Purnima of the Bhadrapada month. It will begin at 9:57 PM and last until 1:26 AM. This eclipse will be visible in India, as well as across Asia, Australia, Europe, New Zealand, Western and Northern America, Africa, and the eastern regions of South America.

Since this lunar eclipse will be visible in India, its Sutak period will be observed, and it will hold religious significance. The Sutak period will begin at 12:57 PM on September 7 and last until the eclipse ends.

This will be a total lunar eclipse in Aquarius and the Purvabhadrapada Nakshatra, with the Moon along with Rahu, and the Sun, Ketu, and Mercury in the seventh house. This astrological alignment may have a significant impact on individuals born in Aquarius and Purvabhadrapada Nakshatra. Such individuals should exercise caution.
