- 1 Cup Urad Dal (split)
- 1 Cup Rice
- 3 Tablespoon Ghee
- 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds
- 1 Pinch Hing
- 3 Piece Green Chillies
- 1 Teaspoon Ginger (grated)
- 0.5 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder
- 5 Cup Water
- Salt
- Coriander
Cooking Instructions
Rinse the urad dal and rice separately. Soak both of them for about 30 minutes.
Take a pressure cooker and heat little ghee. Add in the cumin seeds and wait for it to crackle.
Add in green chillies, hing, and grated ginger. Saute for a while.
Mix in the soaked urad dal and rice. Stir for about a minute and let it coat properly in ghee and spices.
Add turmeric powder, salt, and water. Cover and cook it for 3-4 whistles.
Once cooked, add water to achieve your desired consistency. Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot.
