With over 16,000 reported cases of monkeypox worldwide, World Health Organization has declared this news virus as a global health emergency. Masses have started to panic over this new health emergency and moreover, many reports have highlighted that monkeypox is a sexually transmitted transmitted disease. According to an analysis by New England Journal of Medicined, out of 528 monkeypox positive cases, 98% of them were reported in gay and bisexual men. However, WHO has said that they are still trying to understand this aspect of the virus.
