On December 9 Indian and Chinese troops clashed in the Tawang sector of India's Arunachal Pradesh. The troops reportedly engaged in a hand to hand fight which led to soldiers receiving injuries on both the sides. This is the second such incident since 2020 when Indian and Chinese troops clashed in the Galwan Valley of Ladakh. Now, you all might know that India shares 3,448 kilometers of border with China that runs through the states of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. Now in the Tawang sector of Arunachal Pradesh the border between India and China is not quite well defined. Armed forces patrol the area upto the point which they think are theirs and this has been going on since 2006. The border dispute in Arunachal Pradesh has been the cause of many disputes inn the past as well, the border is not fully defined between India and China which makes it open to claims by both the countries. But there have been many attempts to settle this dispute in the past but nothing really panned out right. So what is the Line of Actual Control ? Why is it so disputed ?
