Defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) goes into the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 Auction with a massive purse of 31.5 Cr. Here are the Top 7 Players MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will pounce upon:

2/8

1. Rachin Ravindra (NZ):Probably the hottest free agent in the lot is NZ’s Rachin. Coming off from a spectacular WC’23, the Kiwi is a perfect fit for the Chennai based franchise and given his familiarity with Chepauk’s conditions due to his playstyle and attributes, purse of 31.5 Cr will be a big helping hand for CSK to grab his services.

3/8

2. Gerald Coetzee (RSA): Coetzee too gave a torrid time to the batters this WC. Gerald has been a revelation this calendar year across the globe and given the woes of Pathirana lately, CSK will be definitely in search for a quality foreign pacer and who better than the next Dale Steyn, Gerald Coetzee.

4/8

3. Josh Hazlewood (AUS): Given the fact that Coetzee has age on his side, he won’t be an easy buy as franchises will seek his services. This can turn CSK’s heads towards Hazlewood. The Australian is coming off a triumphant World Cup campaign and his accurate bowling attributes has given nightmares to batters, especially India at the very same venue (Chepauk).

5/8

4. Hrithik Shokeen (IND): The current IPL title holders had a really solid Top 3 last season but what exposes them is their middle order who hasn’t turned up big oftentimes. An inconsistent Dube, alongside the form of Jadeja and Dhoni does give CSK a bit of a worry. HrithikShokeen is a terrific fielder who can bat and score quick runs, and can also be really handy with his off-spin, and the conditions of Chennai demand so.

6/8

5. Shahrukh Khan (IND): Another effective buy can be of former Punjab Kings XI batsman Shahrukh Khan, who’s a massive power hitter and can be a really massive impact player, given the fact that Chepauk has big boundaries and an Indian power hitter in their ranks as an impact player will be relishing.

7/8

6. Shai Hope (WI): CSK has always been known to get the best out of the potential players and they barely have been into buying big names. Shai Hope can be the dark horse of this year’s IPL Auction as he’s an excellent batter who’s technically sound and is highly reliable in tough conditions, and if CSK fails to capture Ravindra, they can pounce on this opportunity of grabbing Hope measly.

8/8

7. Shardul Thakur (IND): Another surprise purchase can be that of Shardul Thakur. The former CSK guy is a replacement and backup for Deepak Chahar and given the fitness woes of Chahar, Shardul can be a compensating alternative.
