The 2022 World Cup winner will reportedly miss PSG's upcoming Ligue 1 match against Troyes and home match against Ajaccio on May 13. The footballing legend could return to league action for his club's fixture against Auxerre on May 21.

Apart from being suspended for two games, PSG also fined Messi with two weeks' wages, making it loud and clear that "nobody is bigger than the club".

35-year-old Messi, who is a tourism ambassador to Saudi Arabia, was pictured in Riyadh on Monday. He also took to Instagram on Monday to post a picture of a row of palm trees with the caption: "Who thought Saudi has so much green? I love to explore its unexpected wonders whenever I can. #visitsaudi."

Messi's contract with PSG ends this summer and as per several media reports, Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal wants to sign Messi to market a league that contains both him and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Messi's form since leading Argentina to a historic World Cup win last year has declined massively. Recently, he was recently jeered by a section of PSG supporters due to his average outings for the club.

Messi has so far scored 20 goals in all competitions this season and is the leading assist-provider in Ligue 1, with 15.
