Captain Rohit, Dhoni and other limited overs specialists leave for Asia Cup

India begin their campaign against minnows Hong Kong on September 18 before taking on arch-rivals Pakistan in a marquee clash the next day.

India are without the services of regular captain Virat Kohli who has opted out of the Asia Cup after a three-month-long England tour.

Jadhav is making a comeback to the national side post his surgery for a hamstring injury, which he sustained during the opening encounter of this year's Indian Premier League.

The likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Shikhar Dhawan, Dinesh Karthik and Shardul Thakur will join the team on September 16.

Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal too posted a photo with Manish Pandey, who is also making a comeback into the ODI side.

All-rounder Kedar Jadhav posted a picture on his Twitter handle of him along with Sharma, Dhoni, Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav.

The first part of the Indian team led by stand-in captain Rohit Sharma left for Dubai on Thursday for the Asia Cup starting on September 15.

Former captain MS Dhoni and the other limited overs specialists who were not a part of the Test side in England took the Dubai-bound flight on Thursday evening.
