On February 24, Russia launched an invasion in Ukraine which is still going on after 10 days. Post the invasion, Ukraine has been making efforts to safely evacuate its nationals and keep Russian forces at bay. As a result of the Russian invasion, protests erupted in many countries around the world against Russian President Vladimir Putin. Following the invasion, Ukrainian civilians have been fleeing the country leading to a refugee crisis in its neighbouring countries. Refugees from Ukraine queue to a bus to further destinations at the distribution centre in Korczowa, Poland, on March 5, 2022. Almost 1.37 million refugees have fled Ukraine in the week since the invasion, with over half going into Poland, according to the UN refugee agency. (AFP)
