A crew aboard an Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopter was seen conducting a rescue operation of six people stranded atop a JCB in flood-stricken Nainpaka village near Bhupalpally earlier. This comes ahead of an Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) led by National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Advisor Kunal Satyarthi’s visit to Telangana on Monday to assess the damage caused by floods following incessant rainfall in the state. Meanwhile, as per a release from the office of Union Minister and Telangana BJP president G Kishan Reddy, the central team is being dispatched to the state on the instructions of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. At least 18 people died in various rain-related incidents due to the rains that lashed Telangana during the past week. Earlier on July 28, locals were seen standing near the recovered bodies of people swept away in the flood waters of a rivulet in Mulugu district following heavy monsoon rains. At least twelve people from a remote village in the district were swept away in flood water when they were moving towards a safer place. (Source: PTI)
