The Delhi Police On Friday (March 24), the government requested that opposition MPs refrain from marching at Vijay Chowk in the national capital, citing the enforcement of Section 144 CrPC in the area.

Opposition MPs marched against the ruling government, demanding a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) enquiry into the Adani-Hindenberg issue in parliament.

Opposition leaders from the CPI, CPI(M), Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray), JD(U), and Aam Aadmi Party marched to Vijay Chowk, holding placards reading 'We Demand JPC' and 'Save LIC,' as well as a huge banner with the words 'Democracy in Danger' written on it.

MPs are seen marching at Vijay Chowk in Delhi with flyers and posters demanding a JPC investigation into the Adani case in a video shared by the news agency ANI.

Meanwhile, a police officer is heard asking political leaders to stop the agitation, citing Section 144 CrPC, which states that gatherings, protests, and agitation are not permitted in the area.

"We've been fighting for JPC's involvement in the Adani case for months. They have a majority, but the BJP is worried because there is something fishy going on. We will continue to fight for it as a group," said Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge.

He also slammed BJP chief J P Nadda for claiming Rahul Gandhi compared OBC communities to thieves and accused the BJP of engaging in "caste politics."

According to Sanjay Singh of the AAP, Gandhi's conviction shows that the government intends to finish off the opposition by charging them.
