The festival, which will last for two days, will also honour Dr. Prabha Atre, a pioneer of Indian classical music. The vocalist, who was also a recipient of a Padma Vibhushan, turned 90 in September 2022. Along with students, the event will feature speakers including Dr. Rajendra Prasanna and Shashank Subramaniam. The festival offers Sonar the chance to use the instrument to shatter gender stereotypes. He asserts that although men have traditionally dominated the field, things are changing. There will be both males and girls, as well as kids as young as nine, in the flautist orchestra. The money raised will be utilised to support and further the education of flautists in the city, according to the Mid-Day report, which will have donor cards available at the location.
