Though Triptii has a short screen time in the film, the actor is gaining popularity and Instagram followers after the release of the film.

The 29-year-old actress' followers, in just seven days from the release of ‘Animal’, went from over 600K to 2.4 million.

“The first day there wasn’t much that was said about me so I was like, ‘Ok, that happens. I did my best but at least people are liking the film.’ But slowly the tide changed, people started talking and now it hasn’t stopped!” Triptii was quoted as saying by Indian Express about her new popularity.

Netizens have started calling her ‘new national crush’ and ‘Bhabhi 2’ (how she is referred to as by Ranbir’s cousins in the film).

Talking about it, she told Indian Express, “It does flatter me. Numbers are also a validation; it is a very visible form of love and I am grateful for that. But as an actor, I don’t want to get caught up in that. I know that people are also calling me that and honestly it just feels very, very overwhelming.”

About the mixed reaction that the film is getting, she told IANS: “There can be people who love the film; there can be people who don't like the film; there can be people who have issues with the film, and it's okay. Everybody's opinion is equally important."

"People who do not like the film and who are finding problems in the film, they are as correct as people who are not finding anything wrong with the film."

Triptii said that she is not like her characters 'Qala’, 'Bulbul,' or 'Zoya' and she as a person don't agree with what they have done.

“I would not have done in my life. But in that situation, in that moment, I have to submit to the director's vision, and I have to do what the character and the script demands of me and do it with full honesty, because people have a right to present their opinion. That is why we make films; that is why every film should be discussed,” said the actress, who featured in Forbes Asia's 30 Under 30 list of 2021.
