Rahul Bajaj, the chairman emeritus of Bajaj Group and champion of the Indian Auto industry, died at age 83 in February this year. Son of Jamnalal Bajaj, he took over Bajaj Auto in 1968 and transformed it into a conglomerate comprising 40 firms which includes — Bajaj Auto, Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, and Bajaj Holdings and Investment — boasts a combined market capitalization of over Rs 8.4 lakh crore. Atlas Jewellery group’s turnover during the year ending 2014 was $1 billion.
