Mrunal Kirdat demonstrated exemplary kindness by going above and beyond the call of duty to assist retired Army soldier Colonel Man Mohan Malik.
According to an Instagram post, Col Malik became critically ill on December 25, last year, and his son chose to rush him to Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital.
There was major traffic congestion on their way to the hospital, and their car couldn't move.
Meanwhile, Col Malik's son sought aid from two-wheeler riders, who could go faster through gridlock, but to no effect.
According to the caption of the post, Swiggy's delivery executive, Mrunal, eventually provided a helping hand and took the Colonel to the hospital.
Filled with gratitude, retd Col Mallik said, "After several weeks at the hospital, I am well. All I could think about was the young boy who gave me a new lease of life. For me, he is truly a “Saviour” as Swiggy calls them. If not for him, I would have perhaps never been able to return to my loved ones. Thank you to him and all the unsung delivery heroes."
Since being posted on Monday, the post has received around 3,500 likes, and the figure is still growing.
