NEW DELHI: After US President Donald Trump lashed out at a CNN reporter who got into an argument with him at a press conference at the White House post the mid-term polls, the White House press secretary Sarah Sanders shared a doctored video of the event on the internet. The White House press secretary, Sarah Sanders, shared the video on Twitter and said: “We stand by our decision to revoke this individual’s hard pass. We will not tolerate the inappropriate behaviour clearly documented in this video.” While the edited video looks shared by the White House authentic shows the reporter Acosta appeared to swiftly chop down on the arm of an aide as he held onto a microphone while questioning President Trump. Many experts who analysed the original video say that Acosta’s arm appears to move only as a response to a tussle for the microphone. His statement, “Pardon me, ma’am,” is not included in the video Sanders shared. Earlier, in the press conference, CNN reporter Jim Acosta questioned Trump on the migrant caravan from Central America moving which was moving towards the United States which was termed ‘criminal’ by Trump. Trump, clearly displeased said, “I think you should let me run the country, you run CNN." The journalist refused to hand over the microphone to a White House staffer, upon which Trump angrily commanded: “That's enough. Put down the mic." Again when the same reporter asked whether Trump was worried about indictments coming down in this investigation, an irked Trump said, "I tell you what, CNN should be ashamed of itself having you working for them. You are a rude, terrible person, You shouldn't be working for CNN." "I think, that's unfair," the CNN journalist responded. Trump, however, continued, "You're a very rude person. The way you treat (White House Press Secretary) Sarah Huckabee Sanders is horrible and the way you treat other people are horrible. You shouldn't treat people that way." When an NBC News reporter came to his fellow journalist's defence, the president said, "When you report fake news, which CNN does a lot, you are the enemy of the people."
