Atul Subhash Suicide: A 34-year-old techie allegedly died by suicide by hanging from the ceiling fan at his home in Bengaluru. The man, Atul Subhash, shared a 1.5-hour video message and a 24-page death note alleging harassment by his wife and her relatives. Subhash alleged that his wife was demanding maintenance of Rs 2 to 4 lakh and using their son to get the money.
Subhash tagged US President Donald Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk in his social media post that read, "I will be dead when you will read this. A legal genocide of men happening in India." Soon, #JusticeForAtulSubhash started trending on X.
Subhash, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, had been facing marital discord and his wife had registered a case against him in UP, PTI reported quoting a senior police officer. The man shared the death note via email to several people and shared it with a WhatsApp group of an NGO he was associated with, the officer said. He also hung a placard in his house that read "Justice is due".
Subhash allegedly pasted important details on a cupboard, including information about his death note, vehicle keys, and a list of tasks he had completed and those still pending, the officer said.
"A case will be registered in connection with the death once his family files a complaint. A detailed investigation is underway," he added.
Subhas Accused Wife, Her Mother & "Laughing" Judge
In the note, Subhash said that his ashes should not be immersed until he gets justice. "If justice cannot be given then my ashes should be thrown in the gutter in front of the court so that people understand that man's life is a gutter in this country," he wrote.
"I am writing this suicide note in sound disposing mind. I am committing suicide today due to the explicit instigation for suicide, harassment, extortion and corruption of individuals," he wrote. He has named five people, including his wife, his in-laws, and Principal Family Court Judge (UP), for instigating him.
