New Delhi: A Pakistani chopper was sighted in India’s airspace in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday afternoon. Quoting Army, news agency PTI reported that a Pakistani chopper violated airspace along LoC in Poonch. As per sources the chopper hovered in the Indian space between 12:15 pm to 12:20 pm. "After straying into Indian air space, the helicopter withdrew,"an official was quoted as saying by IANS. As per the information received Indian army also opened fire at the infiltrating helicopter. News agency ANI shared the video of the chopper hovering in Indian space from its Twitter handle. Watch the video here: On Saturday, militants attacked a police station in Shopian district of South Kashmir with grenade followed by firing, in which a Jammu Kashmir cop lost his life. The dead policeman was identified as Saqib Mohiudin of Shopian. His service weapon was also snatched by the attackers. On Saturday evening Indian and Pakistani armies also traded heavy fire on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district on Saturday evening. Infiltration attempt by terrorists and ceasefire violation by Pakistan Army in Tangdhar Sector were also witnessed yesterday. However, the Indian Army retaliated strongly and foiled infiltration bid being attempted under covering fire by Pakistan Army. The airspace and LoC violation comes at a time when India and Pakistan are involved in a heated slugfest at the international podium of United Nations General Assembly, where Pakistan has tried to demonstrate that it seeks peaceful relations with India, but it is India which refuses to talk. India had turned down a proposed meeting of Sushma Swaraj and Qureshi after Pakistan’s continued ceasefire violations and violence at the border. India also condemned release of postage stamp glorifying Hizbul militant Burhan Wani. India had said that peace dialogue and terrorism cannot go hand in hand. Until Pakistan makes and effort for conducive environment, talks cannot take place.
