VIDEO: In Pakistan, Harsimrat Kaur Badal performs Kar Seva by washing dishes at Gurudwara Kartarpur Sahib

High Commission of India in Pakistan's Islamabad tweeted a video “Smt. Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Union Minister for Food Processing Industries performing Kar Seva at Gurudwara Kartarpur Sahib.”

NEW DELHI: After the foundation stone for the much-awaited corridor linking Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Pakistan's Kartarpur - the final resting place of Sikh faith's founder Guru Nanak Dev - to Dera Baba Nanak shrine in India's Gurdaspur district was laid in Pakistan, India's Union Ministers Harsimrat Kaur Badal was seen performing Kar Seva at Gurudwara Kartarpur Sahib by washing utensils. High Commission of India, Islamabad tweeted “Smt. Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Union Minister for Food Processing Industries performing Kar Seva at Gurudwara Kartarpur Sahib.” During the ceremony, Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal got emotional while talking about Kartarpur Corridor. She said “When the wall of Berlin can be brought down, then hatred between India&Pakistan can be brought down too with opening of Kartarpur Corridor. It can be a new beginning in the name of Baba Nanak who said 'na koi Hindu na koi Musalman lekin ek Onkar'.” Earlier Union minister Hardeep Singh Puri, along with Union minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal, crossed over to the neighbouring country through Attari-Wagah land route in Amritsar to attend the ceremony. ALSO READ: Kartarpur corridor ceremony: Pro-Khalistan leader Gopal Chawla attends event Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan is located across the river Ravi, about four kilometres from the Dera Baba Nanak shrine. It was established by the Sikh Guru in 1522. The first gurdwara, Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib, was built here, where Guru Nanak Dev is said to have died. The corridor will facilitate the visa-free travel of Indian Sikh pilgrims to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur, is expected to be completed within six months.
