'Sex Slave' Kept Captive In Dungeon For 14 Years, Raped Over 1,000 Times Escapes, Russian Man Held: Report
The woman said she was let out of her room only to cook, clean and take care of the Russian man's mother. Even then, the man followed her around with a knife.
A Russian man was arrested for allegedly keeping a woman as a sex slave for 14 years in a dungeon, where he beat her and raped her more than 1,000 times, a report in New York Post said. The man, Vladimir Cheskidov, is also accused of butchering another woman.
Cheskidov was arrested after the 33-year-old woman escaped from his home in the Chelyabinsk region and alerted the police. The woman's age was 19 when she was allegedly taken hostage by Cheskidov when she had gone over to his house for drinks.
Cheskidov's 72-year-old mother has also been arrested for her role in the woman’s kidnapping, reported Russian news channel 74.ru.
The woman told police that she met Cheskidov at a bus depot in Chelyabinsk in 2009 and soon became friends. The woman said Cheskidov invited her over to his house for drinks. However, when she went there, Cheskidov held a knife on her throat and took her hostage.
The woman said she spent the next 14 years mostly inside a bedroom that was secured with a heavy padlock.
The woman said she was let out of her room only to cook, clean and take care of Cheskidov's mother. Even then, the man followed her around with a knife to prevent her from escaping.
Whenever Cheskidov left the house, he would cover the woman's mouth with duct tape and tie her to a beam, the report said.
In the court, Cheskidov, however, denied he raped the woman and claimed he had a "consensual" and "loving" relationship with her, a report in Daily Mail said.
During a search of Cheskidov's house, investigators found sex toys, muzzles and CDs containing pornography, local media outlets reported.
Apart from this, the chopped-up and boiled remains of a woman were found in a cellar at the property, the Russian Investigative Committee said.
The woman who was held captive alleged that Cheskidov stabbed a woman named Oksana in 2011 and then forced her to help him dispose of the body. The woman said Cheskidov referred to Oksana as his "wife".
The woman managed to escape after Cheskidov, who was a drunkard, suffered an alcohol-induced psychotic episode. The man's mother called an ambulance for him and in the commotion, reportedly forgot to lock the door of the woman.
The woman then ran into the nearby village and found her sister, who had been looking for her for 14 years.
