Robot Deployed At G7 Summit In Hiroshima Greets 'Namaste To India': WATCH

A robot deployed at the G7 summit in Japan’s Hiroshima on Saturday greeted "Namaste to India” and “Hello India.”

A robot deployed at the International Media Centre during the ongoing G7 summit in Japan’s Hiroshima on Saturday greeted people with 'Namaste to India' and 'Hello India'. The robot was further waving as it welcomed India’s participation at the summit. When a woman asked if the robot had any particular message for India, it responded by saying that Indians should come to Japan to explore and learn more about Japanese culture.

This comes as Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday met his Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida in Hiroshima where he attended the G7 summit being held under Japan's presidency. Although India is not a part of the G7 nations, it was after PM Kishida's invitation that Prime Minister Modi visited the country.

According to a tweet by the official handle of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), both leaders discussed ways to enhance India-Japan friendship across different sectors including trade, economy and culture.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also unveiled a bust of Mahatma Gandhi in Hiroshima and met the Indian diaspora here. The Prime Minister said that the world still shivers after hearing the name of Hiroshima.

"The bust of Mahatma Gandhi in Hiroshima will take forward the idea of non-violence. It is a great moment for me to know that the Bodhi tree that I gifted to the Japanese PM has been planted here in Hiroshima so that people can understand the importance of peace when they come here. I pay my respect to Mahatma Gandhi," the PM said.

He added that the bust of Mahatma Gandhi will take forward the idea of non-violence.

He added, "I want to thank the Japanese Government for placing the bust of Mahatma Gandhi here in Hiroshima and giving me the opportunity to unveil it. We should all follow the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and walk on the path of the welfare of the world. This will be the real tribute to Mahatma Gandhi."

On the unveiling of Mahatma Gandhi's bust in Hiroshima, the mayor of the town Matsui Kazumi said, "Mahatma Gandhi was a very respected human being who embodied non-violence throughout his life. This presentation of his bust to this city is very meaningful because our wish exactly coincides with Mahatma Gandhi's policy."
