Princess Of Wales Admitted To London Hospital After Abdominal Surgery: Report
Kensington Palace said that Princess Kate has been admitted to a private London clinic after undergoing planned abdominal surgery.
Kensington Palace said on Wednesday that Princess Kate has been admitted to a private London clinic after undergoing planned abdominal surgery and will remain at the clinic for up to two weeks, as reported by news agency AP. Kate, the wife of Prince William and the future queen, was admitted to the London Clinic on Tuesday.
After the news of Kate’s hospitalisation emerged, Buckingham Palace said that King Charles III would undergo a “corrective procedure” next week for an enlarged prostate, AP reported. The palace stated that the king’s condition was benign.
According to Buckingham Palace, the 75-year-old monarch has sought treatment for an enlarged prostate “in common with thousands of men each year.” Kate Middleton, 42, is likely to return to public duties after Easter. “The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate,” Kensington Palace said, as quoted by AP.
“She hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible and her wish that her personal medical information remains private,” it added.

The palace, however, didn’t offer further details but gave confirmation that her condition was noncancerous. Though she has generally experienced good health, Kate was previously hospitalised while pregnant after suffering from severe morning sickness.
The palace said that the 42-year-old had wished to apologise for postponing her upcoming engagements. “She looks forward to reinstating as many as possible, as soon as possible,” the palace said, as quoted by AP. Born in Reading, England, on January 9, 1982, Kate is the daughter of a flight attendant and a flight dispatcher. Catherine Elizabeth Middleton grew up with a younger sister, Pippa, and a younger brother, James.
