PM Modi said that the coming together of talent and technology guarantees a take brighter future for both countries. ""This morning is only among a few friends but has brought with it the guarantee of a bright future. This is an opportunity to combine President Biden's vision and power and India's aspirations and potential for moving ahead."
Apart from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Joe Biden, top CEOs and chairmen from the US and India were at the White House. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken raised a toast "to the shared hopes of the US and India" and said: "Whether we call it the American dream or the Indian dream... Our people believe profoundly in opportunity. No matter who we are or where we come from, we can make something more of ourselves..."
Blinken said that India is part of the daily lives of Americans. "We enjoy our Jhumpa Lahiri's novels over samosas. We laugh at the comedies of Mindy Kaling. We dance to the beats of Diljit at Coachella. We keep ourselves more or less fit and healthy doing Yoga," he said.
