Plane With 72 Passengers Onboard Circles In Sky For 2 Hrs After Landing Gear Failure
In Nepal, the domestic plane circled in the sky for 2 hrs. The passengers on board were in a state of panic. After a lot of effort, the aircraft was able to successfully make emergency landing.
Kathmandu: Sometimes, airplane travel is a risky affair. A recent incident in Nepal on Monday is a testimony to that fact. The plane circled the sky for 2 hours due to a disturbance in the landing gear. The Buddha Air was later landed in Kathmandu instead of Biratnagar. Meanwhile, 73 people on board were stuck in their seats for hours. Finally, after two hours, people were able to breathe a sigh of relief when the plane landed safely in Kathmandu.
What was the issue?
The incident happened at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Nepal's capital Kathmandu. Passengers were relaxed after the airways landed at the runway safely. Officers on the ground come into action as soon as the plane touched the runway. Once it landed, the fire brigade and the ambulance rushed towards the aircraft. Everyone was relieved as soon as they got off the plane.
Nepal's domestic airline, Buddha Air, was scheduled to land in Biratnagar on Monday morning. The flight left Kathmandu at 8:35 AM and was scheduled to land in Biratnagar. However, just before the landing, the pilot detected a technical fault in the landing gear i.e. the rear wheel.
The landing in Biratnagar was suspended and the passengers were left terrified. The plane was now headed back to Kathmandu where the officials were placing foam on the runway to prepare for the forced landing. Fire brigade and ambulances were also present at the scene. For a very long time, passengers were kept at the edges of their seats.
