‘Hid Under Boyfriend's Dead Body’: Israeli Woman Says She ‘Played Dead’ To Survive Hamas Attack
Noam Mazal Ben-David recounted how she was forced to lie in silence among several victims to save her life while the militants continued the assault.
An Israeli woman who survived the Hamas assault at a music festival has said that she was forced to hide under a pile of dead bodies, which included her boyfriend, for hours to escape being killed, Express.co.uk reported. Noam Mazal Ben-David, 27, recounted how she was forced to lie in silence among several victims to save her life while the militants continued the assault. Her boyfriend, David Neman, was gunned down by the militants.
The couple had attended the Supernova festival on October 7 when they heard loud explosions. The woman was shot in the leg and hip. She said that she was forced to play dead for two hours surrounded by a pile of bodies, and despite losing a lot of blood, the model kept quiet to stay alive, as per an Express.co.uk report.
''We got into our car to drive away, but they had blocked the exits and made it impossible for us to get out. A security guard came running and shouted, 'Run for your life'. They were shooting with automatic guns everywhere at everyone,'' Ms Ben-David said, as quoted by Express.co.uk.
The couple hid inside a large dustbin with 14 other people for three hours until a gunman found them and shot her boyfriend. ''They surrounded us, and they just kept shooting, non-stop. I heard one girl scream, 'Please don't take me. Just leave me alone. But they still kidnapped her. They did terrible, terrible things to her. We were all calling our family and friends on our mobile phones, sharing our location, and begging for help,'' she said, as quoted by Express.co.uk.
On Sunday, Israel continued with its attacks on Gaza as a major strike rocked the besieged enclave, which snapped communication for the coastal strip, while violence also escalated on Israel’s northern boundary with Lebanon.
