Hezbollah Fires Over 165 Rockets At Northern Israel, Toddler Among 7 Wounded
Hezbollah fired over 165 rockets at northern Israel, injuring seven people. The IDF intercepted some of the rockets but several hit residential areas.
Israel-Hezbollah Conflict: Seven people, including a toddler, were wounded on Monday amid an intense barrage of over 165 rockets fired at northern Israel by Hezbollah, as Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar indicated “certain progress” in ceasefire negotiations with Lebanon.
In one of the most severe attacks, a 27-year-old woman sustained moderate injuries, while a 35-year-old man and a one-year-old girl were in good condition after being struck by shrapnel in the northern Arab town of Bi’ina. All three were transported to the Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya, paramedics confirmed, as per the Times of Israel.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that approximately 50 rockets were directed at the Galilee, some of which were intercepted by air defence systems. However, several rockets managed to hit the Karmiel area and surrounding towns. Hezbollah claimed responsibility, asserting that they had targeted “a training base for the Paratroopers Brigade in the Karmiel settlement.”

Shortly after, the IDF announced the interception of a drone launched from Lebanon over the northern kibbutz of Malkia. Earlier in the day, another drone from Lebanon crashed near the Western Galilee town of Liman, igniting a small brush fire.
Israel-Hezbollah Conflict: 4 Injured As 90 Rockets Fired At Haifa Area
In the afternoon, one of the largest attacks on Haifa unfolded, with Hezbollah launching around 90 rockets in two successive barrages. During the first wave of 80 rockets, the IDF stated that most were intercepted, but several struck residential areas. The second wave of 10 rockets was either intercepted or landed in open areas, as per Times of Israel's report.
Significant damage was reported in Kiryat Ata, a suburb of Haifa, affecting homes and vehicles. Four individuals were wounded, including a 52-year-old man who was moderately injured by shrapnel, a teenager and an elderly man who were slightly hurt by glass shards, and a 55-year-old man who was injured while running to a shelter, according to Magen David Adom.
Following the attack on Haifa, the IDF revealed that a Hezbollah rocket launcher involved in the assault was destroyed in a drone strike. Throughout the day, other northern towns also faced heavy rocket fire.

Israeli Foreign Minister Confirms 'Certain Progress' Toward Possible Ceasefire Pact With Hezbollah
The hostilities come as the IDF persists in its campaign against Hezbollah in Lebanon, aiming to facilitate the safe return of approximately 60,000 northern residents displaced by frequent attacks since Hamas’s October 7 terror onslaught.
Speaking in Jerusalem, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar confirmed efforts toward a possible ceasefire, stating, “There is certain progress. We are working with the Americans on the issue.” He outlined preconditions for an agreement, stressing that Hezbollah must withdraw to north of the Litani River and refrain from rearming. “We will agree to it if we know, first of all, that Hezbollah is not on our border,” he emphasised, as quoted by the report.
Despite these developments, Hezbollah spokesman Mohammed Afif denied any official receipt of a ceasefire proposal.
According to the Times of Israel, Afif said that since the election of Donald Trump as the United States President, there were “contacts between Washington, Moscow, Tehran and other capitals.”
“I believe that we are still in the phase of testing the waters and presenting initial ideas and proactive discussions, but so far there is nothing actual yet,” he added, further stating, “According to my information nothing official has reached Hezbollah or the Lebanese state.”
