Hezbollah Chief Hassan Nasrallah’s Son-in-Law Killed In Israeli Raid on Mazzeh Neighborhood in Damascus

Israeli strike hit the first floor of a three-story building frequented by Hezbollah and Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps leaders in he Mazze district of Damascus.

Hassan Jaafar al-Qasir, the son-in-law of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah, was reportedly killed in an Israeli raid in Damascus Wednesday. This came after Nasrallah was killed last week in a massive Israeli strike in Beirut.

"Hassan Jaafar al-Qasir, the son-in-law of Hassan Nasrallah, was among two Lebanese victims of the Israeli raid which targeted an apartment in a residential building in the Mazze district of Damascus," news agency AFP reported quoting the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. The claim was confirmed by a source close to Hezbollah to AFP.

As per a report by Xinhua, at least four were injured in the Israeli strike which hit the first floor of a three-story building frequented by Hezbollah and Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps leaders. Wednesday's attack marks the second Israeli airstrike in the area this week.

On Tuesday morning, Israel targeted a site approximately 500 meters from the current target, killing three people, including a journalist. At least nine others were also injured in the incident.

Israel on Tuesday began what it labelled as a "limited" ground incursion against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, which killed Nasrallah. His assassination followed two weeks of precise Israeli strikes that have destroyed weapons sites, eliminated half of Hezbollah's leadership council and decimated its top military command.

At least eight Israeli soldiers were also killed on Wednesday in several exchanges with Hezbollah in a gunfight inside Lebanon. According to ABP's team on the ground covering the war in the Middle East, Israeli forces have advanced some 400 metres in side Beruit territory, the first time since Israel began its ground advance earlier this week.

After targeting Hezbollah’s senior leadership, including chief Hassan Nasrallah, Israeli troops are now targeting Hezbollah in its home villages in the south. Israeli soldiers encounter Hezbollah fighters for the first time on the second day of the ground invasion of Lebanon.
