Coronavirus: India Suspends Visas Of Travelers From 4 Countries; PM Modi Says 'No Need To Panic'
Coronavirus: Government has also imposed restrictions on the export of 26 pharmaceutical drugs, in view of the recent positive cases of COVID 19.

New Delhi: As positive cases of coronavirus surfaced in Delhi, Noida and Lucknow, on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted to dispel panic among the residents and shared measures to ensure self-protection. The government also restricted the export of crucial medicines and has also introduced visa restrictions on Italy, Japan ,South Korea and Iran.
“There is no need to panic. We need to work together, take small yet important measures to ensure self-protection,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted with an info-graphic.
“Had an extensive review regarding preparedness on the COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus. Different ministries & states are working together, from screening people arriving in India to providing prompt medical attention,” he said in another tweet.
Meanwhile, the Delhi government has called an emergency meeting. CM Arvind Kejriwal, Health Minister Satyendra Jain, Delhi Chief Secretary Vijay Kumar Dev, and Delhi Health Secretary will be attending the meeting today.
India also restricted exports of 26 pharma formulations and drugs including paracetamol.

At the same, India suspended the visa granted to nationals from Italy, Iran , South Korea and Japan on or before March 3 and said that visa for those nationals who haven’t yet entered India stand suspended with immediate effect.
In a tweet, the Indian embassy in Japan said: “Imp Notice-Travel/Visa restrictions due to COVID19. All regular(sticker)Visa/eVisa(incl VoA fr Japan and SKorea)granted to Italy,Iran,SKorea,Japan nationals & issued on/before 03.03.2020 & who have'nt yet entered India, stand suspended with immediate effect.”
