'Will Work With UK Firms On Defence, Aerospace Technologies': Gautam Adani Meets British PM Boris Johnson

Boris Johnson India Visit: Upon his arrival at the headquarters, Johnson was accorded a traditional welcome by senior officials including Chairman Gautam Adani.

New Delhi: British Prime Minister Boris Johnson met Indian industrialist and world's sixth richest person Gautam Adani in Ahmedabad on Thursday. The meeting between the two took place at the headquarters of the Adani Group located in Shantigram, Ahmedabad. 

Upon his arrival at the headquarters, Johnson was accorded a traditional welcome by senior officials including Chairman Gautam Adani. During the meeting, many important issues including energy transition, climate action, aerospace and defense technology and development in the field of human capital were discussed between Boris Johnson and Gautam Adani.

"Honoured to host @BorisJohnson, the first UK PM to visit Gujarat, at Adani HQ. Delighted to support climate & sustainability agenda with a focus on renewables, green H2 & new energy. Will also work with UK companies to co-create defence & aerospace technologies," Adani tweeted.

After Gujarat, he will attend the formal reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Friday morning. After this, floral tributes will be offered at the tomb of Mahatma Gandhi. PM Modi and Boris Johnson will also meet tomorrow. During this, both the leaders will discuss defence, diplomatic, economic partnership.

The Prime Minister of Britain will also hold talks with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. British PM can announce big investment in Gujarat. This will boost employment and development in both the countries. There is also a possibility of talks between PM Modi and Boris Johnson on green technology and raising the necessary funds for green technology.

In Gujarat, Johnson is expected to announce major investments in industries in the UK and India as well as new science, health and technology-related projects. PM Modi, Boris Johnson had earlier met at the climate conference in Glasgow in November 2021.
