An accountability court has granted the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) an eight-day remand of PTI Chairman Imran Khan. Khan was arrested the previous day from the IHC premises in relation to the Al-Qadir Trust case. Additionally, Khan has been indicted in the Toshakhana case by a sessions court. Both hearings took place at the Islamabad Police Lines.
As political unrest simmers in the wake of Imran Khan's arrest, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Balochistan, and Islamabad have called in the army to restore the law and order situation. Sindh has also imposed Section 144 to maintain law and order.
