The past 6 days have been action-packed with most manufacturers unveiling new or updated bikes for the upcoming year at EICMA 2018. From KTM, Ducati to Royal Enfield, it’s all here! And, we’ve summarized the most important bikes of the lot that will make it to India. On a different note, the upcoming Jawa motorcycle was spotted once again, this time without its camouflage. Royal Enfield unveils Concept KX and showcases its 650cc twins

The Chennai based two-wheeler manufacturer unveiled its 883cc, V-twin concept at EICMA 2018. The bike draws inspiration from the original RE KX from 1938 which was reportedly one of the most powerful bikes of its time. The Concept KX features LED lighting at both ends, a slender tank, a single, tan floating seat and a rear swingarm that creates an illusion of a hardtail. As impressive as this sounds, the bikemaker has no plans of bringing it to production, however, the concept does give us a peek at RE’s future K series platform.

Alongside the Concept KX, Royal Enfield has also launched the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 in Europe at 5,500 GBP (around Rs 5.25 lakh) and 5,700 GBP (Rs 5.44 lakh) respectively (both prices, on-road UK). Head here for more details.

 

Hero XPulse 200, XPulse 200T launch confirmed for early 2019

While everyone expected Hero MotoCorp to launch the XPulse 200 at EICMA, the bikemaker instead unveiled XPulse 200T along with four XPulse 200-based concepts. The XPulse 200T is a road-biased touring variant of the XPulse 200. Although, both the XPulse 200T and XPulse share the same 200cc engine, their ergonomics are quite different from each other. The manufacturer also confirmed that both these bikes will be launched by early 2019 in India. The concepts, on the other hand, included a scrambler, desert tracker, flat tracker and cafe racer. KTM 390 Adventure disappoints at EICMA 2018

The KTM stall at EICMA 2018 turned out to be quite disappointing for most enthusiasts as the highly anticipated 390 Adventure seemed to be missing during KTM’s unveiling. Despite the launch of the much-anticipated 790 Adventure twins, not having to see KTM’s smallest adventure tourer in the flesh was an absolute bummer. That said, the Austrian bikemaker might have a valid reason for not introducing the bike just yet, and here’s what we think might have happened.

The Italian luxury bike manufacturer has unveiled its new range of motorcycles before 2018 EICMA. The 2019 lineup ranged from the Scrambler 800 to the Panigale V4R. Some bikes received major design and performance updates, while the other featured new paint schemes for the upcoming year. A clear picture of upcoming Jawa motorcycle surfaces online

While 2018 EICMA created quite a buzz amongst bike enthusiasts, there was one particular motorcycle which seemed to grab headlights just before the show. Mahindra-owned Jawa has been quite secretive about their upcoming motorcycle and even went to the extent of teasing everyone by just showcasing the bike's engine a couple of weeks ago.
