UP Lockdown Extended; Covid Restrictions To Remain Effective Till Monday, 7 AM

Due to continuous surge in Covid cases, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to extended the lockdown. As per the latest development, the imposed Covid restrictions will remain in place till Monday, May 10 till 7 AM.

Earlier the Uttar Pradesh had decided to implement the corona curfew till 7 am on May 4, which was further extended for two days, and now fow another five days. 

During the lockdown period, all markets, private and public offices will be closed till 7 AM on Monday. Shopping malls, restaurants and bars will also be closed. The government has advised people to remain indoors and only those involved in essential services will be exempted from the restrictions.

Pharmacy shops, hospitals, and other essential services will be available during the lockdown. Religious places will also remain shut.

Earlier this week, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stressed on the need to operate community eateries in the state so that no person remains hungry during the curfew. A spokesperson of the state government said that while reviewing the management of the Covid-19, the Chief Minister said that due to partial corona curfew, no street vendor, daily wage laborer should have food problem. 

The strict restrictions have been imposed to contain the spread deadly Coronaviris in the state. As per the latest health bulletin, UP recorded 25,858 new cases of Covid in the last 25 hours. As many as 352 people succumbed to the virus.
