Tata To Hike Prices From April; Spend More For Harrier, Nexon, Tiago, Hexa And Others

Price hike a result of rise in input costs and external economic factors, says Tata Motors

Tata Motors is set to increase the prices of all its models from April 2019. The increase will be to the extent of Rs 25,000 and is a result of rising input costs and external economic conditions. The price hike will affect Tata’s models such as the Harrier which currently retails between Rs 12.69 lakh and Rs 16.25 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). A week ago, Tata-owned Jaguar Land Rover had also announced a price hike of up to 4 per cent on select models. Earlier this month, Tata Motors had given an insight into its future offerings at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. This included Tata’s much-awaited answer to the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and the Hyundai Elite i20 - the Altroz. You can find Tata’s official statement about the price hike below. Press Release Tata Motors to increase prices of its Passenger Vehicles from April 2019 Mumbai, March 23, 2019: Tata Motors today announced that the Company would be increasing prices of its passenger vehicles range by up to INR 25,000, starting April 2019. This hike in price is due to rising input costs and external economic conditions. According to Mr. Mayank Pareek, President, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors, “The changing market conditions, rising input costs and various external economic factors have compelled us to consider this price increase.
